Pretreatment for DWP Botlek Fase II

The biggest demin water installation of The Netherlands (DWP phase I), already built by Logisticon for Evides Industry water, is running since December 2009. The feed water source for this installation is changed from drinking water into surface water in 2011. The surface water has to be treated using a combination of flocculation, Dissolved Air Flotation en Filtration (DAFF), sludge treatment with a lamella separator and decanter. Also built by Logisticon (Mechanical) and Elmon (Electrical). The installation has a capacity of over 2000 m3/h, and also contains HDPE piping up to DN1000. The installation was commissioned in August 2011.

    Drinking water company Evides investigates purification technology for the future


    Climate change (low and high river flow and salinisation), possible soil pollution and discharge of unwanted substances are affecting the quality of the sources from which drinking water is produced. To cope with these changes, Evides is looking for new technologies in various research projects.
