Drinking water company Evides investigates purification technology for the future

Climate change (low and high river flow and salinisation), possible soil pollution and discharge of unwanted substances are affecting the quality of the sources from which drinking water is produced.

To cope with these changes, Evides is looking for new technologies in various research projects to ensure that customers can continue to rely on sufficient drinking water of good quality in the future.

Collaboration

In setting up and carrying out these research projects, Evides works closely with various partners to benefit from each other's expertise. For one of these research projects, Evides Waterbedrijf asked Logisticon to equip a very extensive pilot hall on the Baanhoekweg in Dordrecht with a wide variety of techniques. This includes mobile systems such as flotation, various media and membrane filtration systems and UV. Two parallel research lines of 15 m3 per hour each are operated simultaneously in order to compare the various techniques. Because of cost savings and flexibility, all components have been leased for a period of two years.

According to Lars Groenewold, project engineer Evides Waterbedrijf, the project is realized in a pleasant cooperation, in which the knowledge of Logisticon and Evides led to a succesful result.
