How do we ensure that in 2050 we will still have reliable drinking water flowing from the tap?

The challenges are clear:

  • Increasing water consumption (2024: 119.5 liters per person per day).
  • Dry summers following one another at high speed.
  • A country that is becoming ‘full’ and where interests collide: drinking water, agriculture, housing, and nature.

With the project Living Lab Strategisch Hart, together with Vitens and six other market parties, we are taking a radically new path. Within the consortium Living Lab en verder (LLEV), we are searching for innovative answers to the drinking water challenges of the future. Think of:

  • The IJssel as a potential new source.
  • “Water batteries” to store rainwater in the soil.
  • New forms of collaboration between the market, governments, and residents.

As Logisticon Water Treatment, we contribute our expertise in water treatment to this unique project. Our goal? To develop the drinking water concept of the future, to test everything we don’t yet know in a pilot and development location, and to translate the outcomes into a blueprint for future drinking water production.

Innovation, co-creation, and courage – that is what Living Lab Strategisch Hart stands for.
