Working together on the future of drinking water
It is great to see the pilot installation for new drinking water treatment technologies now visibly taking shape at the Weesperkarspel site!
Commissioned by Waternet, Logisticon Water Treatment is building a complete pilot installation for research into current and future drinking water treatment technologies. From the very start, Logisticon has been closely involved, working together with Waternet’s process technologists and researchers to design and develop this pilot installation.
Since May 2025, the realization phase has started, with Logisticon acting as the main contractor, responsible for the design (mechanical, electrical & process automation), construction, and commissioning of the installation. Intensive coordination and flexibility are essential, especially for a pilot installation where adjustments during the process are sometimes necessary.
The installation consists of two complete treatment lines, in which various technologies are being tested in parallel, including:
These are complemented by supporting systems such as chemical dosing, CIP units, UV disinfection, and wastewater treatment.
Due to the limitations of the existing building (the former ozone building), creativity was required, including lifting installation components through a specially installed roof hatch—one of the many challenges within this project.
Together with Waternet, and with the support of Witteveen+Bos, Logisticon is working on innovative solutions for future-proof drinking water production. Proud of this collaboration!
