Stripping columns are used to remove volatiles from water such as volatile hydrocarbons (e.g., benzene, toluene and xylene), volatile chlorinated hydrocarbons (e.g., per and tri) from water. The Logisticon stripping columns are made of the so-called countercurrent principle. The water is pumped to the top of the column.

The Logisticon stripping columns are made of the so-called countercurrent principle. The water is pumped to the top of the column. At the bottom of the column air is blown in countercurrent with the water flow. The volatile components move from the water phase to the air phase. With a good dimensioning of stripping columns, a yield of more than 99% can be achieved. A special calculation should be able to calculate the expected yield. Often a post-treatment of the released air is necessary. In practice we use often special Active carbon for air. (LAKF).
Stripping columns are used to remove volatile hydrocarbons and volatile chlorinated hydrocarbons from water. Stripping columns are frequently used for:
Logisticon's stripping columns for rental are made of coated steel. A removable plastic lid with a demister package is mounted in the stripping column. At the bottom of the column a plastic grid is mounted with on top the filling. Usually the filling consists of 2 "pall rings”. Other features include: a stainless steel water distribution system (removable), an inspection hatch, a support at the top of the column for horizontal transport, hoisting eyes, a water and air pipe, a leveling glass for water level control in the pump buffer, float switch for steering of the optional supply and drain pump, a cage ladder and a fan with a working switch in a soundproofed housing. In addition, a sample valve and a drain are provided.
As alternative to Stripping towers (working in over pressure with air), Logisticon Water Treatment also has vacuum degassing membranes available. (stripping under vacuum, negative pressures with optional the use of sweep gas N2)
