Drinking water supply secured for the future by new water treatment plant

In 2021, Oasen started with the complete new construction of water treatment plant De Put in Nieuw-Lekkerland. As planned, the newly realised treatment plant will again supply drinking water to the Oasen supply area in the spring of 2023.

The new water treatment plant, where groundwater is purified to high-quality drinking water, is equipped with modern purification techniques and is based on the One Step Reverse Osmosis (OSRO) concept developed by Oasen, in which membrane technology (Reverse Osmosis) and further post-treatment ensure 100% impeccable drinking water.

Logisticon Water Treatment was commissioned by Oasen to design and build the RO membrane installations, including the downstream ion exchange (IEX) filters. In addition, Logisticon realised the corresponding secondary installations, such as a CIP installation RO, a salt and brine storage and regeneration stations IEX, IEX regenerate and the RO concentrate discharge installation.

The complete treatment building and the remaining part of the post-treatment – consisting of calcite filtration and aeration and degassing towers – is being realised by the general contractor for the complete work. With this new water treatment plant, Oasen is able to secure the supply of drinking water for the future. Salinisation of the groundwater and possible future pollution are optimally removed in this new modern plant.

In addition to the new De Put treatment plant, Oasen has also started construction of treatment plant De Hooge Boom in Kamerik. For this project too, Logisticon was commissioned to design and build the same installation as realised at De Put. It is expected that the first drinking water following the OSRO concept will be supplied to the consumers in the third quarter of 2023.
