Logisticon improves water treatment at UK refinery with two ultrafiltration units

Logisticon Water Treatment has successfully optimized an aging water treatment plant at a major refinery in western England. The refinery, which specializes in the production of gasoline, kerosene and diesel, was experiencing problems in their pre-treatment plant, which threatened the production of ultra-pure water for their boilers and turbines.

The refinery takes water from a nearby river and purifies it as pretreatment for their demi-water plant. This plant, which is crucial for the supply of ultra-pure water, was in danger of shutting down due to the malfunctioning of the aging pre-treatment plant, which had been in operation for more than 40 years.

After careful analysis of the river water and the existing plant, Logisticon recommended the use of their ultrafiltration (UF) technology. In January of this year, Logisticon delivered two UF2880 units that will serve as a temporary solution for the next few years until the refinery renovates their entire water treatment plant.

Benefits of the UF solution:

  • Increased water quality
  • More stable process
  • Fast delivery
  • No production downtime
