Logisticon supplies a sophisticated treatment installation: Bioterra can discharge again

At Bioterra in Genk (Belgium), soil is remediated either biologically or using a physical-chemical process. The soil that arrives by truck or ship is cleaned with water. Until recently, the waste water produced by the process was physically-chemically treated. However, this no longer met the local discharge regulations.

After extensive MBR tests, Logisticon Water Treatment designed, built and delivered a fullscale MBR installation in a 20ft container. A membrane compartment is integrated in this container, which houses the KOCH membranes.

Bio-Dynamics, the civil engineering partner in this project, developed a circular concrete tank-in-tank, in which nitrification and denitrification occur. Thanks to this sophisticated MBR solution, the treated waste water - app. 10 m³/hour - can once more be discharged into the adjacent river.
