Logisticon’s MBR installation offers greater operational reliability in waste processor’s treatment process

The wastewater at the waste processor's site is treated using MBR technology. The previously supplied membrane bioreactor (MBR) container needed replacing and the customer asked Logisticon if the new MBR container could be designed with a larger capacity.

Logisticon supplied a customized 20ft. MBR container with a higher capacity. The design was completely revised. The installation is equipped with an enlarged membrane surface of 1,914m2. This is 45% more surface area compared to the previous installation. In addition, various optimizations were implemented based on the customer's experiences with the previous unit and Logisticon's experiences with MBR installations. The result is a "state of the art" MBR container with a relatively small footprint and increased capacity.

During the realization of the project, it was decided in good consultation to also renew the control of the water treatment plant. The entire control of the treatment plant on site has been renewed based on Logisticon’s standard for process automation, resulting in a single control system for both the existing components of the plant and the new MBR container.

The new MBR container gives the customer the opportunity to continue their water treatment process with greater operational reliability. In addition, the integrated control system offers one clear SCADA for business operations.

Because the unit was extensively tested in Logisticon’s workshop before it went to the site, it was possible to switch from the existing to the new unit within a short period of time. As a result, the treatment plant only stood still for a short time and no wastewater was left untreated.
