Logisticon realised a membrane bioreactor (MBR) plant with a net production capacity of 80 m3/h for an industrial customer in the chemical industry, located in Ruhr area Germany. Due to the condition of treating different wastewater qualities and the required redundancy to operate 24/7 for 365 days, three separate MBR streets of each 40 m3/h are realised.
Prior to the realisation of the full-scale installation, the client carried out several pilots in cooperation with Logisticon. These involved testing of different types/manufacturers of MBR membranes: hollow fibre as well as flat sheet.
The new MBR plant is based on the application of Puron Pulsion membranes from Koch Separation Solutions. The MBR plant is fully automated including the ability to automatically clean the membranes. The plant was commissioned in early 2022 and is operating to the full satisfaction of the customer.
