Mobile Chlodos desinfect drinking water network

Everybody should have safe drinking water available of the highest quality. In the event of an incident, it is therefore essential that the supply of drinking water returns to a safe level as soon as possible. After the incident, from the perspective of prevention, some of the drinking water network should be thoroughly desinfected

Drinkingwater companies Evides N.V. and Brabant Water N.V. have entered into a joint agreement concerning the use and management of two mobile chlorine dosing installations. These ‘Chlodos’ are on permanent standby for use in the event of an incident related to water quality and for corrective interventions.

They are located in trailers and are equipped with dosing pumps, chlorine storage, an injection point and connection equipment. When controlling the process, a concentration of chlorine must be fed into the dosing solution.

Then the control system, using flow measurement and dosing pumps, ensures that the selected section of the water system receives the correct dose.

The reason that Brabant Water and Evides are working together is to share and develop knowledge, guarantee deployment and save costs. In addition, together they operate a joint maintenance programme for the equipment. As a result, if an incident occurs, the Chlodos can be deployed in each other’s service area. These mobile Chlodos are also extremely suitable for water companies that want to quickly ensure the desired water quality is met after an incident has occurred.
