Mobile ultrafiltration for drinking water production

At the beginning of 2020 Logisticon Mobile Water Solutions delivered 4 containerized ultrafiltration systems to a customer in Brazil. These units have a total production capacity of 600 m3/hour. During a period of more than 4 years the units will produce drinking water.

The end customer produces drinking water from surface water, coming from a nearby lake. The current drinking water installation has to be expanded in order to increase the production capacity. Due to the use of Ultrafiltration containers of Logisticon Mobile Water Solutions, the end customer ensures the supply of drinking water to the surrounding community. The water from the lake has a high turbidity ( in the form of fine silt) after rainfall. This was one of the challenges for the application of Ultrafiltration membranes. By implementing a smart pre-treatment of the incoming water, the UF containers now produce stable and problems- free water for several months. The 4 UF2880 units were delivered at the beginning of 2020 and started up remotely by our specialized service engineers last September.

Each UF installation consists of 48 parallel in dizzer ® XL 0.9 MB 60m2 membranes with a total installed area of 2880 m2. The installation is equipped with a feed pump, 300 µm automatic pre-filter, a tube flocculator, chemical storage and dosing systems, purified water buffer, chemical cleaning systems with integrated heaters, backwash pump and finally a purified water discharge pump. Each installation is fully designed and built in a CSC certified 40 ft insulated container and is controlled by a Siemens S7-PLC system with Scada and datalogging. The ultrafiltration systems are remotely controlled with a master PLC using a secure VPN data connection.
