Innovative membrane degassing solution reduces maintenance in drinking water facility

Problem

A drinking water production facility on one of the Dutch islands faced challenges due to the presence of methane in the groundwater source. After anaerobic nanofiltration, this caused contamination issues during the aeration and degassing steps. As a result, frequent cleaning of the equipment was required.

Solution

Logisticon Water Treatment conducted pilot tests with membrane degassing units to remove methane from the water. Following the successful pilot phase, a full-scale fixed membrane degassing plant was implemented to ensure efficient and continuous methane removal from the water.
