Solution for challenge 1: 

Logisticon supplied an ultrafiltration installation with which the incoming wastewater could be purified. This allowed the decarbonisation installation to be bypassed and reduced the amount of iron and suspended particles in the water.

Solution for challenge 2:

An installation was supplied here with which the surface water could be filtered (physical chemical followed by sand filtration) so that a double pass reverse osmosis could reduce the salinity. This significantly reduced the number of regenerations.
