Problem
UK's biggest cheese manufacturer producing mature cheddar cheese faced a shortage of drinking water during dry periods for its cheese production. Herefore the need to re-use more wastewater arose. As the outstanding tender for a new WWTP would take years a fast and temporary solution was needed.
Solution
A three-year rental agreement of a skid mounted RO unit (54 membranes) including CIP unit. The system was fed with biological pre-treated (MBR) wastewater.
