Surface water pilot for Dunea Valkenburgse Meer commissioned
Problem

Dunea faces the challenge of securing the drinking water supply in their region in an increasingly complex environment. The current system, which depends on two river sources (Maas and Lek) and long transmission lines to the dunes, is becoming increasingly vulnerable. Pollution, drought, and the need to relocate pipes for infrastructure projects pose risks to the continuity and reliability of the water supply. Therefore, Dunea is looking for new, robust sources and techniques to continue to provide reliable drinking water under all circumstances.

Solution

Logisticon offers a comprehensive solution for testing and researching drinking water preparation from The Valkenburgse Meer. This includes the construction of a pilot plant with various purification techniques, such as microfiltration, ultrafiltration, reverse osmosis and sand filtration. In addition, Logisticon is taking care of the construction of an industrial hall with office and lab, the modular construction and integration of the purification systems, and the testing and commissioning of the complete installation on site. During the four-year test period, Logisticon will perform maintenance to ensure the continuity and reliability of the installation. At the end of the test period, the pilot plant will be dismantled and removed.
